RRB Group D Level-1 Exam Pattern 2025 (CBT-1)

The Computer Based Test (CBT-1) is the first stage of the selection process. The exam pattern is as follows:

  • Duration:
    The exam duration is 90 minutes. However, for eligible PwBD candidates accompanied by a scribe, the duration is extended to 120 minutes.
  • Negative Marking:
    There is a negative marking scheme where 1/3 of the marks allotted for each question will be deducted for a wrong answer.
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks:
    Candidates must secure the following minimum percentage of marks to be eligible for the next stage:

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Candidates who qualify in the CBT-1 are called for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). The criteria for PET are:

  • Male Candidates:
    • Should be able to lift and carry 35 kg of weight for a distance of 100 meters in 2 minutes without putting the weight down.
    • Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 meters in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one chance.
  • Female Candidates:
    • Should be able to lift and carry 20 kg of weight for a distance of 100 meters in 2 minutes without putting the weight down.
    • should be capable of running 1000 meters in 5 minutes and 40 seconds on one attempt.

Note: The PET is qualifying in nature, and candidates must meet the specified criteria to proceed to the next stage.

Document Verification and Medical Examination

Candidates who qualify in the PET are called for Document Verification and Medical Examination. The process includes:

  • Document Verification:
    Verification of candidates’ educational and community certificates, as well as other relevant documents, to ensure they meet the eligibility criteria.
  • Medical Examination:
    Assessment of candidates’ medical fitness to ensure they are fit for the duties of the respective posts.

Note: Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing the requisite Medical Fitness Test, final verification of educational and community certificates, and verification of antecedents/character.
