Educational Qualifications

1. Junior Weaver

Essential Qualification:

Matriculation from a recognized board.

Eight years of experience in loom setting and weaving different types of fabrics and designs in a reputed organization.

Proficiency in all preparatory processes related to weaving.

Desirable Qualification:

A 3-year diploma in Handloom Technology or Handloom and Textile Technology from a recognized institution. Alternatively, a 2-year certificate course in Handloom Weaving recognized by the state government.

2. Junior Assistant (Weaving)

Essential Qualification:

Matriculation or an ITI diploma in Textile Weaving Trade from a recognized institution.

Expertise in methods such as winding, warping, and sizing of silk, cotton, and woollen yarns, or 3 years of experience in a reputed handloom or textile weaving unit.

Alternatively, a short-term training course of at least 4 months in weaving from a Weavers’ Service Centre or IIHT, with 2 years of experience in a reputed unit.

3. Attendant (Weaving)

Essential Qualification:

Matriculation or an ITI diploma in Textile Weaving, Winding, or Warping Trade from a recognized institution.

2 years of experience in a reputed handloom or textile weaving unit.

Familiarity with methods such as winding, warping, and sizing of yarns. Alternatively, a short-term training course (minimum 4 months) in weaving from a Weavers’ Service Centre or IIHT, with 1 year of experience in a reputed unit.

Desirable Qualification:

Experience in bookbinding, sample cutting, or booklet preparation will be preferred.

Posting Location

Successful candidates will initially be assigned to one of the following locations: Chennai, Kancheepuram, Salem, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kannur, or IIHT, Salem.
