CSIR-CCMB Summer Training Program Eligibility Criteria

1. Postgraduate Programs:
- M.Sc./ M.Tech/ M.Pharm: Students admitted in 2024 who have completed the first year of their program.
2. Undergraduate Programs:
- B.Tech./ B.Pharm: Students admitted in 2022 who have completed three years of their program.
- Integrated B.Tech-M.Tech / B.Sc-M.Sc / BVSc: Students who have completed four years (or the 8th semester) of their program.
- MBBS/ BDS: Students who have completed three years of their study.
- B.Sc in Biosciences (4-year program): Students admitted in 2022 who have completed three years.
Note: Students enrolled in a three-year B.Sc. program are not eligible to apply.

CSIR-CCMB Summer Training Program Structure
This summer training is not a conventional classroom-based program. Instead, selected students will work under the direct supervision of a CCMB scientist on a short research project. The program provides a real-time research environment and includes:
- Project-Based Learning: Each participant will be assigned to a specific laboratory where they will conduct research under the guidance of a CCMB scientist.
- Lecture Series: Covering diverse topics such as popular science, research ethics, good laboratory practices, and career opportunities in life sciences.

CSIR-CCMB Summer Training Application Process
To apply for the Summer Training Program 2025, candidates must submit an online application and provide an authorization letter from the Head of the Department (HOD) or Dean of their institution.
Important Notes:
- Applications must be submitted online through the CCMB website.
- A list of selected candidates will be published on the official website.
- No separate notification will be sent to applicants regarding their selection status.
- Selected candidates must confirm their acceptance within the stipulated time frame.
Boarding & Lodging
CCMB does not provide accommodation for selected students. Candidates are responsible for making their own arrangements for stay and food during the program duration.
CSIR-CCMB Summer Training Program Important Guidelines
- The duration of the program is 60 days (approximately 8 weeks).
- Candidates must complete the entire 60-day program without any breaks.
- Applications submitted before the official notification will not be considered. All applicants must submit a new application using the prescribed format.
- Candidates must upload all necessary academic documents, including marks/grades from 10th standard to the most recent semester.
- If the latest semester results are unavailable at the time of application, candidates must upload a certificate from their institute confirming that they have appeared for the exams.
- Selection is highly competitive: Only around 10% of applicants are selected due to limited availability.
- Selection will be based on academic performance and the Statement of Purpose (SOP) submitted by the candidate.
- The decision of CCMB regarding selection is final. Letters pertaining to the selection process will not be accepted.
- Canvassing in any form or attempting to influence the selection process will lead to disqualification.
- Selected students must submit an authorization letter from their institution’s HOD/Dean in the prescribed format.
Intellectual Property Rights
All research data generated during the summer training program will be the exclusive property of CCMB. Students are not permitted to use or reproduce any data without obtaining prior permission from their mentor.
