For Deputy Director
Candidates should be officers from Central or State Governments, Union Territory Administrations, autonomous bodies, statutory organizations, public sector undertakings, or recognized universities/research institutions who:
- Hold analogous positions on a regular basis in their parent cadre/department, or
- Have served for five years in Level 11 of the pay matrix (₹67,700–₹2,08,700) on a regular basis.
For Senior Scientific Officer
Applicants must be officers from the Central or State Governments, Union Territories, autonomous/statutory organizations, public sector undertakings, or recognized universities/research institutions who:
- Hold equivalent posts on a regular basis in their cadre/department, or
- Have five years of experience in Level 10 of the pay matrix (₹56,100–₹1,77,500).

For Scientific Officer
Eligible candidates must be officers from Central or State Governments or Union Territories who:
- Hold equivalent positions on a regular basis, or
- Have two years of service in Level 9 of the pay matrix (₹53,100–₹1,67,800), or
- Have four years of experience in Level 8 of the pay matrix (₹47,600–₹1,51,100).
Educational Qualifications and Experience
For Deputy Director
- Essential Qualification: Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, Medicine, Bacteriology, Microbiology, or Biotechnology from a recognized university/institution.
- Experience: At least 10 years of experience in drug testing, research, and standardization.
- Desirable Qualification: Doctorate degree in any of the above-mentioned fields.
For Senior Scientific Officer
- Essential Qualification: Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, Medicine, Microbiology, Bacteriology, or Biotechnology from a recognized institution.
- Experience: At least eight years of experience in drug standardization and research.
- Desirable Qualification: PhD in any of the relevant fields mentioned above.
For Scientific Officer
- Essential Qualification: Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, Medicine, Microbiology, Bacteriology, or Biotechnology.
- Experience: Minimum of eight years of work experience in drug testing, research, and standardization.
- Desirable Qualification: Doctorate degree in the related field.
Tenure of Appointment for CDSCO Recruitment 2025
The recruitment for all positions will be on a Deputation (Short-Term Contract)/Promotion basis.
- For the Deputy Director, the deputation period (including short-term contract) should not exceed four years.
- For the Senior Scientific Officer and Scientific Officer, the deputation period is capped at three years.
Posting Location
Selected candidates will be posted at the Central Drugs Testing Laboratory (CDTL), Hyderabad, operating under the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
